Workshops/Rehearsals/Meetings

Individuals or groups may rent multipurpous rooms (Alice, Winslow, Library and Conference Room) for the rates of $10/hr members; $12/hr non-profit/non-members; $25/for profit.

Alice and Winslow are our classrooms located on the second floor. These 650 square feet rooms feature one large white board each, folding tables and chairs to seat 15-20 people. Tables and chairs can be removed to create an open space.

Alice and Winslow are used for Hugo House classes and other programs, and each room is available to rent.

The Cabaret Performance Space

The Cabaret is a performance space on our main floor. It has small tables and wooden chairs and can seat up to 80 people. In the center of the Cabaret is a stage with a sound system and lighting board. The Cabaret is available for rent, and is often used for public and private readings, meetings, and concerts.

The Cabaret is equipped with a sound system and a basic lighting arrangement. Hugo House staff can provide assistance with the setup of basic wash of lights and 1-2 microphones, but will not run sound and lights during the event. Renters will need to provide their own technical staff for any additional technical support. Access to additional technical equipment in Cabaret will require an initial meeting between any technical staff employed by renter and our facility manger.

Other events: $225 per night (or for any 6-hour period)

Café Hugo

Café Hugo serves coffee and tea, beer, wine, cocktails and light snacks. The Café can be open for an event that takes place in the Cabaret. Renters interested in providing their own food or alcohol may incur additional charges and must have liquor permits.

In order to assure a reasonable income, Café Hugo operates under the following arrangements:

ARRANGEMENTS FOR RENTERS:

  • The Café must earn $40 in sales for an individual event. If this amount is not reached, the renter will pay the difference;
  • Renter may request for the Café to be closed, so that they are not required to make above mentioned income goal. With this arrangement, renter is not allowed to serve food or beverages; if renter requests the Café to be closed, renter can request a coffee service to be set up at no cost.
  • For renters who wish to offer food and beverages to their audiences, a buyout fee of $50 is asked by Hugo House. The Café will not open.
