The House is located at 1634 Eleventh Avenue in Seattle. Parking is available to the rear of the building and on the street.

Directions from I-5 Northbound

  1. Take the Olive Way exit and turn right onto Olive Way.
  2. Go straight for a number of blocks. Olive Way will become East John Street and you'll cross Broadway.
  3. Turn right onto Eleventh Avenue.
  4. Go straight for approximately four blocks. Richard Hugo House is a gray Victorian House on the corner of Eleventh Avenue and Olive Street.

Directions from I-5 Southbound

  1. Take the Stewart Street / Denny exit.
  2. Take a left on Denny. You'll cross over the freeway as you go up the hill.
  3. Get in the right lane and continue straight until you come to Eleventh Avenue.
  4. Take a right onto Eleventh Avenue.
  5. Go straight for approximately four blocks. Richard Hugo House is a gray Victorian House on the corner of Eleventh Avenue and Olive Street.

From downtown, get off at E. Pine and Eleventh Ave. One block north on Eleventh Ave. takes you to Richard Hugo House.

#7 and #9

From the U. District or downtown, get off at E. Pine and Broadway (at Seattle Central Community College). Continue east on Pine, take a left (north) on Eleventh Ave. Hugo House is one block up.

From the U.District, Montlake, or downtown, get off at E. John & Eleventh Ave. Head south on Eleventh Ave. Hugo House is 4 blocks down on the left.

After 6:30 p.m. Monday–Sunday, Hugo House has 22 parking spots available for Hugo House patrons, including one ADA approved accessible space. From 9 a.m.–6:30 p.m. please park in the northeast corner of our lot (the signs are marked "General Parking").

For special events such as the Hugo Literary Series, we will secure additional off-street parking for our patrons. Please contact the director of facilities  for any additional information.
