Hugo Writers Fund Application Please read guidelines to determine your eligibility to apply, and to find instructions on how and when to apply before filling out this form. If you are eligible, submit a typed proposal answering the following questions: 1. What is the name of your event? 2. What is the project coordinator's name, address, phone number and e-mail? 3. What are you requesting from Hugo House? We can award an in-kind grant of space—cabaret, theater, classroom space. (For details, please see our rentals page.) 4. What dates and times are you requesting? (Remember: you must contact joeslaby@hugohouse.org and reserve space BEFORE submitting this application. Your application will not be considered without a date reservation.) 5. Briefly describe your event (250 words, maximum) and make a case for why Hugo House should support it. 6. If the event is produced by an organization, please provide a description of the organization's mission and activities. Enclose brochures or other publicity materials if possible. 7. Provide brief biographical information about key performers and producers (one paragraph per person). 8. Include a work sample: Five double-spaced pages of prose, five poems, or up to three minutes of a performance on video/DVD/CD (please identify which track, or cue video tape to where you want us to start watching). 9. Include a sample budget detailing expected expenses, income, and what you will do in the event that Hugo House does not grant your full request. 10. Outline your publicity/marketing strategies for this event. 11. Describe how you will evaluate the success of this program. 12. Attach any other relevant materials you think will clarify our understanding of your proposed event.
