House Writers-in-Residence
The House writers-in-residence are available to meet free of charge (by appointment only) with anyone seeking advice on their writing. Residencies run from September through June and may last for up to two terms.
When making an appointment, please give writers-in-residence up to one week to reply. Appointments are generally scheduled two weeks prior. Please no drop-ins.
2009-2010 Writers-in-Residence
Ryan Boudinot is the author of “The Littlest Hitler” (Counterpoint, 2006), a Publishers Weekly Book of the Year. His first novel “Misconception” was published by Grove Atlantic in fall 2009. His work has appeared in McSweeney's, The Stranger, “The Best American Nonrequired Reading” and elsewhere. He teaches at Goddard College's M.F.A. program in Port Townsend.

Karen Finneyfrock is a veteran of the spoken word movement who was honored as a “Legend” at the National Poetry Slam in Austin, 2006. She returned to the stage to represent Seattle as a member of our 2008 National Slam Team. A recent alumna of the Hedgebrook Writers Colony, Karen is the author of two books of poetry and is completing her first book of young adult fiction. Karen is a teaching artist for Arts Corps, Seattle Arts & Lectures' WITS program and Richard Hugo House. She is a resident the Cooper School Artist Studios in West Seattle.
